Last Week As A Missionary

Another great week as a missionary!! I love being on a mission so much.  I am constantly amazed at the joy I feel no matter what is going on.  We had stake conference this week and one of the seventy came and I loved his talk, it I learned so much. Sorry this is random but I had my first real bike crash this week!  I was on exchange with Elder Halliday and I was biking close to what I thought were some leaves and it turns out it was a branch and so the branch broke and I fell over and hit my hands.  Nothing crazy, they didn't bleed or hurt for long.

Talking to Anna Felix

My favorite part this week was we got to talk to Anna Felix for a bit!  She moved somewhere else in Visalia so we passed her off to them.  Someone told us that she was visiting some family in our area so when we were in that area we felt like we should stop by.  We asked her how she is doing and her scans came back good that she didn't have cancer.  Then she asked us a question, what is the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I really want to know and I can't remember?  It was an amazing experience to teach her from the scriptures and testify.  Looking back we forgot to mention the strength she  can receive to overcome her addiction to smoking so we will have to let the other missionaries know so they can keep helping her.  We were not able to serve anyone this week, we keep trying but people say no, maybe I should be more persistent, but our members served us.  On Saturday at about 3:30 I broke one of my bike pedals, it was the screw part that goes into the crank that broke off.  We h

Elder Rust and Final Zone Conference

Elder Rust This week I had my final zone conference as a missionary, which is sad to think about.  During our last zone conference we are given the chance to give our farewell testimony and that was so hard to do.  I feel so much joy in being a missionary.  We were instructed that the Lord would have us work through less active and part member families to find prepared people to teach so we have been working diligently to meet them, teach them, help them feel the joys of the gospel and so desire to share it with those that they love.  Elder Mountford got his boot off on Wednesday, so we are back to biking again, which I normal love but I don't like how its getting hotter outside.  We are blessed with so many nice people who give us water every day.  I went on exchange with Elder Vaudry and sadly I forgot to take pictures.  Its always great to work with a different missionary, to see how they teach and see things differently.   We are continuing to teach Brother Welch and Sam

Exchanges and Prayer

I unknowingly picked a computer that cannot send pictures.  I will try and can on one that can.  We had a cool little experience this week. We were picking up dinner from a family and they told us how they were frantically looking for a baseball mitt for practice.  My companion suggested that they pray and there young son jumped to the ground to say a short prayer.  We started to drive away in our car when we heard someone yelling.  We stopped and found the family running after us and they told us they found the baseball glove!  It was right where it was supposed to be and they had looked there many times but they couldn't find it till they prayed. We have been working diligently to get to know all of the less active and part member families and were blessed to have many tell us that we can come back this next week to get to know them and teach them!  We have been staying busy teaching Sam and Kevin, who were baptized a couple of months ago.  They are both so amazing

Elder Mountford; Visalia 3rd Ward

We  got a car since Elder Mountford has a broken foot so we were able to go out and work this week.  We got another call on Thursday saying we would be moved again, so now Elder Mountford and I are in 3rd ward and Elder Stojka and Elder Maas are in 6th ward.  Elder Stojka says he is doing the similar but now his chest is hurting more.  Anna came to church again on Sunday.  We are trying to help her find a place where she can move back into 3rd ward, she lives in 2nd at the moment, and that will make it a lot easier for us to work with her and to help her.  We will skype after church, it ends at 2 my time, I will get back to you with more details later in the week.  Our mission president had a recent training and upon returning has encouraged us to find through our less actives more then ever, so we are trying to be as organized as possible so we can best visit and help them.  It's so sad in some ways, the things that people allow to prevent them to receive the blessing and joys of

Elder Stojka is Sick in Visalia

I would probably be nervous to apply for a job and trying to figure out what classes to take and how much I can handle.   Usually about once a week, I have not tried any new recipes.  We got transferred on Friday Visalia 3 and 6 with Elder Mountford, I will tell more to mom, and Anna Felix, an investigator, came to church yesterday.  Just keep her in your prayers that she can stop smoking.  Today has been busy, we went to buffalo wind wings and my 2 companions almost died trying the new sauce for the wings.  Last week was fun, we played a game called escape the room, a game of puzzles, clues, and riddles, it was really hard.  I don't think we had much service this week that I can remember.  I went on exchange with the Zone leaders on Thursday, and it felt great to get out and work and bike.  We had a great experience  where the Spirit lead us around the corner to meet some great people for us to teach.   Elder Stojka is still sick, we don't know what he has, the doctor does
