Brook Rodriguez' Baptism

Image
This week was so amazing as Brooke Rodriguez loves the gospel so much and made another step back to our Heavenly home by being baptized.  Everyone needs the gospel and the Lord has entrusted us with his message so that all of his children may learn how to find peace in this crazy world.  General Conference is coming up soon and so we have been listening to old talks in our apartment and o ne that  I greatly enjoyed was Pray in Faith by Elder Bednar.  It really got me thinking about the things that I am praying for and about and how I can better plan to act on things instead of asking.  In his talk he mentions that we do a great job praying for missionaries to find people to teach,  " But ultimately it is my responsibility and your responsibility to find people for the missionaries to teach. Missionaries are full-time teachers; you and I are full-time finders." I reflected upon his statement it reminded me that we have so much to learn here on earth and that...

Clothes Wearing Out

We get to go the temple every 3 months, so we will probably go next transfer. I am going to get my suits dry cleaned in the next week or two, I wish I could sew better because my socks are getting holes, and my mesh garments are getting tears again, I am not sure if i should try and fix it or just get cotton ones that won't fall apart.  We are trying to work with the members more so that our investigators and less actives can have fellowship and feel loved and cared for.  I guess I love focusing on the gospel and important things and being able to spend all my time helping others progress. I am sorry I don't know how to best describe my weeks and I forgot to email you first, I will do better next week.

Brook Passed Her Baptism Interview!

That sounds so much fun, I keep trying to write down all the names of my cousins, aunts and uncles, but I can never remember everyone.  I recieved an awesome pillowcase from some Pflugerville ward members with cookies notes on it, so much fun.  This week was amazing.  I guess the highlight of the week is that Brooke Rodriguez passed her baptismal interview and is set to be baptized at 3 this Saturday.  JR just has a few more things to learn and then after his interview he should be good for April 1st. We get to go the temple every 3 months, so we will probably go next transfer. Brooke Has a Baptism Date

T hank you for the updates and your questions, they help me focus. We usually do our shopping at Winco because it's the cheapest but today we will probably be going to Walmart, shopping is always fun because we have to call and get rides for people to drive us there and take our food back. Many times I am busy trying to shave and do my hair so I am unable to eat breakfast, but usually it's cereal, sandwiches, or beans and cheese on tortillas. I have not done any juggling for a while now, recently the Area Book and napping have been taking up lots of time so I have forgotten the fun of trying to juggle.  We are getting to know the Bradshaws, Rindlisbachers, and the Tanners, they like feeding us a lot.  I play the piano sometimes at district meeting because we are all terrible at it.  We are super excited for JR and Brooke.  JR didn't drink coffee yesterday so we will keep working with him and supporting him and he should be ready for baptism on April 2nd, we may c...

Following the Spirit

Preach My Gospel has most of the how of missionary work, the Book of Mormon contains the doctrine.  I wish I knew what you needed the most, but I would recommend pondering over chapter 4 when you can.  I have been really trying to grasp the importance of the Spirit recently and that a lot of prayer and hard work going into being able to listen and learn from it constantly.  Usually it's just simple things like go talk to that person or knock one more time.  I have also been trying to better realize that the Spirit is the real teacher, that when people let the Spirit enter, they are able to change.  I sometimes just think I can make the gospel make logical sense but it doesn't work like that, the Spirit is how they will become converted.  You should get that job, everyone loves you.  The bible can be hard at times but my last companion studied it diligently and was able to share many scriptures with people that I never knew were there.
