Obedience Brings Blessings

We knocked on doors when we were looking for less actives or referrals but not much after that, we stayed really busy.  We had a great zone conference on Tuesday that took most of the day.  On Monday we helped set up for Zone conference on Tuesday, had a good lesson with a recent convert Melissa, on how she can find peace during trials with her family.  We also taught some less active families kids that evening but they didn't pay much attention that evening so it was not very effective.  On Tuesday we had a great lesson with one of our investigators Larry and read 2 Nephi 31 with him to teach him about the gospel of Jesus Christ, he loves to learn.  We drove up to Springville that evening for dinner and after a great lesson, the members gave us a name for us to go teach.  We went out with Brother Webb that evening and we had a super great lesson with a less active.  She told us she wanted to read the scriptures more so we gave her a triple combinatio...

Elder Talbot Update DT Debbie Talbot   Reply | Mon 2/20, 10:23 PM Suzanne Clark (shurtzs@yahoo.com); Drew Talbot (drewtalbot32@hotmail.com); Melvin Shurtz (melshurtz@gmail.com); +25 more Chastity's baptism was wonderful!  We had a great turnout from the ward and from her family.  I don't think any of them are interested at the time but I know they felt the Spirit there because I sure did. Ester Lucero, who was baptized in June, has been sick for a while but she was able to make it to the baptism and she brought some of her friends there as well. The sister missionaries did the half time show, or the presentation while the  people are changing out of wet suits.  They showed the last couple minutes of The Testaments, when the Savior comes to the America's and heals and teaches the people and followed that up with there own powerful testimonies of th...

Rain

I emailed Spencer but I forgot to ask him about getting a job there, we have been getting lots of rain here which is needed.  I have not been working with members on family history, we have been trying to get our recent converts to start theirs but we have not been able to make much progress yet.  What changes has the church made?  I really enjoyed our interview with president, we found some people to teach, and I feel like something exciting happened but I don't remember.  Some one asked us a questions a few days ago about 1 Corinthians 6:3 about us judging angels and I was wondering if you knew what it is talking about?

Singing Hymns

I will have to think on the trip because all 3 of those have there pro's and con's and sound super fun.  We had a great week.  We had a really hard time teaching and finding investigators but whenever we prayed for guidance, we were led to less active families so we had 18 less active and recent convert lessons.  We did not have any training's or conferences this week because we had so man last week.  Sister Nelson taught us that we can invite miracles by praying for angels, singing the hymns of Zion, and creating a plan to prayerfully study the atonement.  Elder Nelson answered a lot of questions for missionaries.  Like with part member families, some of them will never join but make sure you are teaching clearly and powerfully so that they know our message.  With Less actives we need to love them so that they will share there concerns and that singing hymns in lessons can help invite the Spirit more powerfully.  We are spiritual physicians and w...
