Elder Dallin Talbot's Mission Fresno California 2015-2017

It has been another amazing week out here in California.  The weather is cooling down, I love the people hear and love learning so much.  I made cookies this week, except that I forgot the 1 tsp of baking soda, so that is unacceptable.  My companion has been converted to the ways of cookies and wants to help me buy supplies so I can make more because we are out, someone ate them, very strange.  The biggest things this week are that I love the people that the Lord allows us to work with, when we find time to help others, everything works out.  Also we are getting more missionaries so they will be covering one of the 2 wards now, and also taking our car, so I am going to find time today to dust off my bike so I can use it on Wednesday. I also need to make it look less new and shiny so people won't be as tempted to barrow my bike seat and tires.  I am so excited for the sisters coming in to help the Sierra ward because they are going to do amazing things.

This week had some amazing highlights and was so much fun.  First off, I was unable to chase my companion away so we will be together for another 6 weeks here, its going to be so much fun.  It was great as we got a call from a less active member, Chis who said he wanted to start coming back to church and wanted us to come visit him.  While he was their I noticed he had a bible out so it looks like he has been reading from the scriptures, which is awesome!!  We were finally able to go and see Sonja so that was a blessing.  She had a lot of concerns and questions about being cleansed from sin and about being able to keep pressing on in trials.  We are going to follow up and find out where her faith and trust in God is, she is reading and praying daily now and tells us that she can see the difference so that is amazing.  The best part of my week was last night.  We were visiting a less active family, the Reyes that just move in from another ward a fe...

I forgot to take pictures this week, I am terrible with priorities and only have 5 minutes left.  Sonja is making things difficult and canceled the last 5 appointments.  The rest of the week has been pretty good and I love starting to recognize more and more people I know at church, especially the people who we are working with and teaching.   We have been able to see some of the other people we have been working with.  I love pondering old scripture masteries and really getting to know them.  Thank you so much for all of the updates.  I get to give a training on Tuesday so that will be fun. So many wonderful people to help and work with, I love being here.

This has been another week, so I never know where to start.  Thursday and Friday were amazing as we were able to go and do service with the CDA, and is was amazing to see all the work and effort they put in so that they could spend 2 days giving free dental care to those in need.  So on Thursday we spent a few hours helping set up by putting clip boards together for the patients.  Friday was really fun but also tiring as we were standing for like 5 hours escorting people from their seats to either the exit or to the dentist so that they could do a simple teeth cleaning.  The worst part was that they put us next to the kids station where they were playing the movies Frozen, Big hero 6, and how to train your dragon, so we got to try and not watch those for like 5 hours.  They were able to help just over 1250 patients on Friday and they hopefully did the same on Saturday so they had tons of dentists to help thousands of people.  Conference was truly amazing...
