Porterville Museum

It is just a museum  about Porterville and its history. I don't really know what's it is about.  They just have a train exhibit every year and I will make sure to get pictures when we go back this week.  Lessons that we had this week.  We taught Youa about the law of Chastity and how she needs to get married so she can be baptized and eventually make it to the temple.  She said she will talk to him so we are praying for them and hope things work out.  I don't remember a lot of the things that we taught because I keep forgetting to write in my journal.  We had a lot of good food and pies this week.  We spend a lot of time working with recent converts, because a prophet of the Lord taught us of its importance   President  Gordon B.  Hinckley  said:  “There  is  absolutely  no  point  in  doing  missionary  work  unless  we  hold  on  to  the  fru...

Life in Porterville

This place has way too many hills and so we are blessed to have a car down here in the Porterville 2nd ward.  This ward has been on fire and has 11 people baptized in the last year and it is so much fun getting to know them and teaching them.  We have lots of people to teach and since the 3rd ward got combined we have a lot of paperwork to organize so we are trying to find time to find more new investigators while making everything else we need to to gets done.  First we have Grace, she was baptized 2 weeks ago and confirmed at church on Sunday.  When we talked to her later that day she said she felt like God touched her heart when she was given the gift  of the Holy Ghost and that was so amazing to hear.  We also have Sean and Sheena, who got married a few weeks ago so that they could be baptized.  They have completely changed their lives around because of the gospel and through the power of Christ.  They were going through some fina...

Service at Castle Air Force Base

Doing service at Castle, Zone temple trip, and I tore my pants. What more can you tell me about the super regional's because that sounds awesome?  That band is always doing amazing things.  That sounds like so much fun for Dayton! We called our investigator and he said he will be in Fresno until next week and our potential said to come back next week because they had just had a shooting in there family.  I was so excited to get to meet and teach them but we got transfer calls and I am getting moved to the other corner of the mission, Porterville, crazy times.  I am going to miss all the great people and there love for me and for the missionaries that are lucky enough to serve in the ward.  We spent a lot our week trying former investigators, we have been getting better at seeking the Spirit's guidance but not many people were home and the few that were said the family had moved and they were not interested so we keep looking.  We went over to ...
