Elder Stojka

That is exactly what I am feeling.  I feel the Spirit so strongly here, I want to work harder, and it feels so much more personally meaningful when I share my testimony.  My companion is Elder Stojka.  We have lots of wonderful members who love to do missionary work and feedings us lots of ice cream, cookies and other sweets.  Elder Stojka is from New Jersey and he has a wonderful testimony and love for people.  My favorite companion would be Elder Davis, Rust or Wilmoth, we worked so hard and had so many great experiences.  Elder Rust is down here in Visalia and I am excited to see more of him. I just registered for summer term so that should be good.  I am on a bike and my arms are turning red and brown and it hasn't even been a week here.  I have been working hard to get things organized and to meet more people.  I have felt so happy and wonderful all week its amazing.  No matter how many people weren't home or said they didn't want...

The Hoffman Family; Saying Goodbye to Elder Wilmoth

Transfers are on Tuesday, so on Sunday we learned that sadly Elder Wilmoth and myself will both be getting transferred along with other missionaries from our district.  That has to be the low-light of the week.  We have been very busy saying goodbye to so many people and I will miss them greatly.  I will be getting moved to the Visalia 2nd ward with an Elder Stojka.  It should be a very exciting week. I never realized that I was going to miss so many people especially when its so hard to get the to church. Highlight of the week.  We found 2 new investigators, Charles and Janelle.   They fed us dinner on Thursday.  Jannele has come to church twice before, has been reading the gospel principles book and asked us for a book of Mormon, how awesome is that?!?  Charles has come to church in the past, but things have held him back from being baptized but now he feels that those things are taken care of.  They told us they wanted to come to ...

Jerry's Baptism

J erry was baptized this week on Sunday at 4pm.  We were getting worried at church because it was 10 minutes into church and he hadn't come yet.  He finally did and everything worked out.  HIs baptism was amazing.  .  We had 12 missionaries there, a senior couple, 4 missionaries and their investigators,  2 from Kerman and Madera,  us and the sister missionaries.  The Spirit there was so wonderful, we had a wonderful turnout and support.  Elder Levie performed the baptism, Elder Wilmoth gave a talk, Sister Troseth gave a talk, I was chorister and gave the closing prayer, and Sister Jeffrey sang a song.  I did not make treats because I forgot and it was a fast Sunday.  We all felt the Savior's love there and knew that this is where he wants Jerry to be.  We had another busy week.  It takes 3 hours to fill the font and we had to fill Jerry's and fill it again on Saturday.  Our mission president has instructed us to do ou...
