Elder Dallin Talbot's Mission Fresno California 2015-2017

I have been thinking about people and paths they follow as well and so I have been studying chapter 9 of preach my gospel, and one of the scriptures I studied in that chapter was DC 29:7 which talks about how the elect will hearken to the truth of the gospel.  I have been trying to think more about that recently and how my job is to talk to as many people as the Lord puts in his way, I have to do my part, but those who are ready will be receptive and we will be able to work with them.  I went on exchange with our district leader this week, this is his last transfer and so it was great to talk and learn from him.  He hit on the things that President Clark told me to do, to be bolder and that he needs me to be a leader.  I have begun to notice more and more that I am acted upon instead of acting, and that is where DC 58:26 comes in and says that doing so is not a good idea.  So I am going to find time to apply Ether 12:27 and grow and get the strength I need to ch...

So the fire, we were out driving a few miles south of Atwater and we went to try the Avilla family and so we knocked and rang and no one answered, even though all the cars were out front, so we started to head to the next destination when we saw this big cloud of smoke, we didn't pay much attention at first but we eventually felt we should go see what it was.  We pulled up to the end a the culdesac and we saw the smoke was coming from behind the house, so Elder Toombs hopped and and started running to see if they needed help, they did because there was a couple of fires in their fields, so we started looking for hoses to help spray the fire down until the fire department came.  With the help of other neighbors, we were able to contain the fire without it reaching anything new, like a house, to burn.  Other fun things of the week, on Tuesday I went on exchange with Elder Hopkin's to his area in the Atwater 3rd branch.  That was a really fun day, but also really long w...

G ood job Devin, that is so awesome.  That is always cool to here that another stake is created.  Are there 4 wards attending that building now?   Kathy is not doing so good, she has been struggling and avoiding us some so we think there are some problems that we do not know about.  She was not at church on Sunday so we are going to check up on her tonight and  help her understand the importance of praying and studying daily.  We won't really know until we see her again.  Linda was busy with family this week so she could not make it to church, but we were able to watch Joseph smith, the prophet of the restoration with her and she wants to study the Book of Mormon and learn more.  We will be following up with her tonight to see what she has read.  Other people would be the Scott and Avilla family and Gene Sanders.  Both of the families are less active but the Lord is truly working miracles in there lives and there desire to change is grow...

​This is my companion Elder Toombs after we helped some people fight a fire in a field until the fire department got there.  It was not too big of a fire and it mostly burned some grass and nothing major like a house.
