Letter from Elder Talbot DT Debbie Talbot   Reply | Tue 1/31, 7:25 AM Suzanne Clark (shurtzs@yahoo.com); Drew Talbot (drewtalbot32@hotmail.com); Melvin Shurtz (melshurtz@gmail.com); +26 more The baptism went really well, we had  a great turnout with over 40 people again.  After her baptism, she bore her powerful testimony of the truth of Christ's message and it all started for her because of the good example of her friends in school.  We were only able to find one new investigator this week, Cletus.  We received his as a media referral who wanted a bible and to talk with us but he was not there on the return appointment.  We have a few people who said we could come by next week and we talked to a less active brother who is really struggling and wants us to start coming over more.  It was so amazing because he was not anywhere in our plan...

Fresno Temple

Looking back at college, I was like a lot of people I meet out here, who either are struggling and don't ask for help or don't realize that there is a problem.  Our baptism is on Thursday so I will make sure to send pictures.  I try and play the piano when I see one and remember, but I don't remember much of any songs so I try and play hymns.  I should have thought to mesmerize songs to play out here that were not super worldly, like Chirstophoris dream instead of imagine dragons.  I am not sure where I have changed the most, maybe in learning about the importance of preparation and accountability.  Preparation for things is like growing crops, it takes daily nourishment and care if I want to do a good job at school or as a missionary.  At times I have found myself wanting to be complacent, telling myself that my work in the past will be sufficient for the lessons I will be teaching and the other things I will be doing throughout the day.  Like Preside...

The Most Joyful Week of My Life

I still don't like decisions, Toby has asked if I would room with him, along with Elder Rust but I don't think I can afford not to have free rent.   This has been the most joyful week of my life, its ridiculous, I wish I had better words to describe it. LaDonna Elkins, was baptized by Elder Levie, and was confirmed by Brother Hatch.  The Spirit was there at her baptism and I felt is especially strong when she was baptized, when we taught everyone about the gospel of Jesus Christ while they were changing and when a brief talk was given on the Holy Ghost.  More that 40 people came to the baptism and so the cookies and brownies we made for refreshments disappeared very quickly, everyone was impressed with our baking skills.  My heart has been full of joy and gratitude to see the Lord do his work.  We had a miracle at church when we found a new investigator.  She just moved from Lemoore where the missionaries were teaching her and she wants to be baptized....
