More Bike Drama

We have a weird schedule today, district meeting at 8:30, then preparation day, then dinner 5-6 then studies 6-8.  I will have to take some pictures and try slime tubes.  I bought tube protectors but it doesn't protect the sides of my tires. Awesome that sounds like such a fun week.  Things are starting to pick up here, I am trying to work on smiling more and trying to be myself so I might remember to take pictures of things.  We found 1 new investigator this week and some potentials and we are so excited to try them again on Tuesday so we can teach them the gospel.

Goat heads

A picture of my new apartment, dinner that a member gave us, there was vegetables inside the cookie container, and my exchange with Elder Edwards. Thank you for that reminder, I need all of the reminders I can get.  Thank you so much.  This week was rough, I keep having to buy more bike parts, goad heads are the bane of my existence.  My tire tubes got at least 10 holes over the course of our exchange so I am getting better at fixing them and taking my bike apart.  We tried to visit the Avila's and it looks like we won't be able to continue teaching them, Brother Avila gets in the way of the Spirit being there.  We are still trying to find and we have a few more people to try next week.  We also had Zone conference this week about the character of Christ and becoming more like him.  It was super awesome and uplifting and I am excited to study the four gospels to learn more about him. We went out to the air force base to pull weeds for ser...

Biking a Lot

I forgot my camera but I did take pictures so I will get them to you soon.  Its less than a 5 minute bike ride to get into my area so its no too bad.  I think biking helped some, but it doesn't compare much to being on a bike so much your bottom gets sore.  The biggest thing would have been knowing how to work and fix my bike, I have gotten lots of help from other missionaries to figure that out.  I have never made pancakes for breakfast, its usually something really simple, bread and peanut butter, cereal or like corn dog.  At the moment I feel I am at a weird stage of going back and forth between coasting and struggling.  I have not looked at my patriarchal blessing for a long time so I need to do that. There is a brother Hill and one of the bishops kids has it as well.  We are going to try and play in the next 2 or 3 weeks when Brother Hill has Monday off.  We play board games sometimes and we are allowed to play sports. We try to go to the ca...

Moving and Teaching Gene

We are trying to do axis and allies on the 24th or the 31st and we should need just one more player.  We go to ward council every week and I love our new bishop, I am amazed at how much he gets done during that meeting.  Our best lesson was with Gene Sanders.  He is not a recent convert any more but we went over and watched part of general conference with him and discussed it a bit.  We were also able to serve him and put in some new lights for him. We are still at 1 investigator and we were not able to meet with her this week.  The most exciting thing was we found out last night that we are moving apartments so I will have to send you pictures next week.  We now live outside our area so that will be a bit more biking.  That looks like a lot of great pictures and fun events.

Loved Conference!

We watched conference at the church and it was so much fun to watch, I have never enjoyed conference so much in my life.  I loved all of the talks and some of the things that stuck out to me were gratitude, repentance, prayer, and preparing for the sacrament.  I really loved Elder Hollands and Elder Bednar's talks.  I can't really think of any food that I wish I could make.  I usually have cereal or peanut butter toast for breakfast and sandwiches or leftovers from dinner for lunch. I have been amazed at the power of the Book of Mormon and how it makes me want to become a better person and better loving and following my Savior.  I loved Elder Hale's talk on if we love the Savior more, will we suffer less. That was an amazing talk, I really enjoyed it and know that exercising faith in Jesus Christ has brought and will bring joy.  Elder Cornish's talk was also amazing and I loved his inspiring and uplifting words.
