Goat heads

A picture of my new apartment, dinner that a member gave us, there was vegetables inside the cookie container, and my exchange with Elder Edwards.

Thank you for that reminder, I need all of the reminders I can get.  Thank you so much.  This week was rough, I keep having to buy more bike parts, goad heads are the bane of my existence.  My tire tubes got at least 10 holes over the course of our exchange so I am getting better at fixing them and taking my bike apart.  We tried to visit the Avila's and it looks like we won't be able to continue teaching them, Brother Avila gets in the way of the Spirit being there.  We are still trying to find and we have a few more people to try next week.  We also had Zone conference this week about the character of Christ and becoming more like him.  It was super awesome and uplifting and I am excited to study the four gospels to learn more about him.

We went out to the air force base to pull weeds for service this week.  It was fun to work hard and attack some of the giant weeds.  We went with the Winton elders so that made it more fun.  I have been focusing on getting through the 4 gospels, a commitment from zone conference. I have been getting better at studying instead of just reading and the Sermon on the Mount is so amazing.  Christ tells us what kind of people we need to be, how to act, and the importance of learning and doing the will of the Father and other greatness.  It wasn't quite guidance but while we were weekly planning  and discussing which less actives we needed to visit teach and find through, we got a phone call.  It was a relative of one of our less actives and told us of the trials his family is going through and was able to give us a correct address and phone number for the less active.  It was so amazing to see how the Lord works.  We felt like we should let our bishop know and so we gave him a call and he dropped by.  He wasn't home but we will try again soon.  Being here a long time, I am amazed at the importance of really getting to know and work with the mission, especially the ward mission leader and bishop.  I really struggle with working with and talking with people to build relationships, so I am trying to learn from my companion.   I don't talk enough so I don't know families very well.
