4 Investigators

I love all of those cowboy hats haha.  Thanks so much for all those who wrote.  I am going to get off that thank you letter today, I need to take more pictures but we are either busy or tired, being busy helps you forget you are tired.

I guess they are at EFY now but
Drew, I went on exchange the other day with this Elder from Columbia, and his favorite player is James Rodrigez who plays for Real Madrid I think, is he any good?  Also go BYU football, do we play Fresno St this year because I don't remember and some FS fans were asking about it?

Dayton, good luck converting Drew to the ways of video games, my companion love video games and went to super smash brothers tournaments and won a few of them, so he is pretty good, also he is like 2 time state champ in the long jump with 24feet, so pretty balla, On what you need to know before your MTC, a big thing is the normal read and pray, but to start thinking about your mission more as it gets closer.  Also, you should have received pamphlets as a priest, if not ask for them, they are Restoration, Plan of Salvation, and The Gospel of Jesus Christ, they are super awesome and helpful in teaching people as we usually like to teach new people with the Restoration pamphlet and then to give it to them and to ask them to read and pray about it so we can go more in detail next time.  It is very useful to know how to teach it and to compound your words with the pictures, so you can ask people a question about the front cover which has Jesus holding a lamb, then we usually go into how the gospel blesses families and the next page has a picture of a family and the importance of them and how we want to raise our family in a good environment.  To help us with that we have teachers who can help us, these teachers are called prophets, next page has Isiah writing scriptures, and how they help lead and teach the gospel.  And then maybe about how they testify of Christ, who is on the next page and we ask them what he is doing, and they never know and so we give a positive response like yeah, kinda like that and then tell them it is Jesus giving the priesthood to Peter to the laying of of hands, and how that is the authority of God, to teach and to baptize, their are bullet points we usually have them read.   We might talk about how Christ established his church and his priesthood, and the next page go into how it was lost, and maybe have them read about the famine of the word in amos, then we turn the page while talking about joseph smith, what he saw, and how he is called as of the prophets of old, and so we might go back to earlier pages to show how we have prophets back then and also now, next is peter james john giving the priesthood to joseph, so we explain how it went from Christ to his apostles and then to Joseph Smith, and then we might commit them and say, if you come to know that this is true, will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God.  The last 2 pages are on the Book of Mormon how it testifies of Christ and shows that Joseph was a prophet and also that they don't have to take our word for it, but that they should ask God, the source of all truth, if it is true.  It is very important and helpful to know how to teach simply and quickly to invite the Spirit, and then to ask if we can follow up, visit them, or have their number is they have questions.  I think it would be a great activity to just study and talk about the pamphlet and then to practice teaching it to investigators.

We found 4 investigators yesterday, so awesome, no investigators came to church, 2 are starting to love the Book of Mormon, another wanted to be baptized but the internet says we are the devil and she doesn't want to see us anymore, she lives in an RV so its hard to find her.  Sonja is close to baptism, just needs to stop smoking and drinking, but that is proving difficult.  The trees here are much bigger/taller than those in Texas.
