Week 2

So much happens in a week and it starts blurring together.  I was disappointed yesterday as they had us start reading a case study but didn't give us enough time to finish it.  It was about a missionary that was transferred to like the Cambrige mission or something in the new york area or something.  The really important thing was that when she entered, they had only 2 investigators and she kept being told that the mission was no good, but she was so determined so she changed things up by having the newer members have the missionaries over and while they were their they would invite them to find referrals and stuff.  Also the missionaries would get to church early so she could try and learn everyone in the word.  They also made a huge chart that listed all the families and things about them and the missionaries did their best to learn it all so they could love and care for the ward better.  It started with a referral and so that was good and then they had the member share their testimony about finding the person, we didn't get to read the rest but in like a 6 months or so, they were able to get 30+ member referrals and like 15 baptisms, I really wish I could have read more.  We as members have the responsibility to warn those around us and I know that as we do our best, the Spirit will guide us, DC 84:85.  I was never good at this but I hope I can improve now, I hope to be able to really help the ward, to love them and build their desire to share the gospel with the people around them because God has been preparing people for the gospel, we just need to find them.

This week has gone by so fast, me and Elder Smith have learned a lot and had a lot of outstanding experiences as we have been able to teach investigators.  This includes are teachers who play the role of a friend they have as an investigator, and also the TRC that has nonmember investigators and I think member actors to play the role of investigators.  The Holy Ghost truly is the only way for people to know the truth of the gospel.  Getting the mail has never been so much fun as I love getting packages full of candy and sweets and dinosaurs, we now have like a family of dinosaurs sitting on a shelf in the classroom and the district loves it.  The Dear elder thing is also awesome because some people in the district have had family members going through hard times like being attacked and dear elder has been a great help to them in letting them get updates daily and to know family is ok.  Its also fun to bug the district leader to go and check the mail all the time.  Emailing is hard, I never know where to start, too much has happened and I am very slow at this whole typing thing.  Its so sad that I won't be seeing some of the new friends that I have made here as everyone but me, Elder Smith, and Sister Bangerter all leave this Monday at 3am, the rest of us get to stay until Wednesday at like 6am, and apparently we will be some sort of weird tripanionship.  I am getting excited to get out into the field and to really see what its like to be a busy missionary.  Yesterday was in field orientation, which was cool, but it meant sitting in chairs for like 10 hours yesterday, usually its like only 7-8.  This may sound like school and it is but being in the same room starts to do things to the mind.  I have taken some pictures but I have not been able to figure out how to get them onto the computer yet.
