Forced to Order Seconds
Sorry no pictures this week, the computer did not like the usb stick. This has been such a wonderful week, I cannot believe that I have been in this ward for over a month now, it feels like I got here only a few days ago, I love the people hear so much, even when they don't feel like coming to church. Tuesday we were in Fresno and set up like 4 appointments most fell through so we were only able to finally figure that a less active who called us, Jen, is not married legally to her nonmember husband, they did some sort of Elvis wedding, so she is technically under our jurisdiction but her husband does not appear to be too interested at the moment be we are going to see what we can do about that. Wednesday was fun as we were able to go out to the vineyard again to help with clearing up weeds and pruning. Some of the members have decided that I need lessons on job interview skills, so those are so much fun. Thursday was New Years, so we had to be back by 8 and we had fun eating junk food and trying to watch a church movie on our DVD player while it kept dying and refused to charge. Now Friday was very fun as we decided to go see the members up in Coursegold, about 30+ miles north of us in the boonies and mountains, so we were happy that our elders quorum took us up their in a truck he borrowed. No one we talked to was really home or had decided to attend another church so not much success, but it was a lot of fun to spend time with some members to get to know them and see the beautiful scenery. Saturday we helped our ward clean the church and then they took us out to Denny's so I don't have much to complain about, except apparently I looked hungry so I was forced into ordering seconds so I don't know what to do with these crazy people. Sunday we gave a lesson in elders quorum about member missionary work and how it is all our responsibility, so we will keep praying that we will be able to find more people. After that we were able to finally meet up with one of the recent converts here so that we can finish teaching her the new member lessons. Then we called Jesse, one of our investigators and we were able to see him for the first time in weeks!! That went well and we will follow up on his praying to find our if the Book of Mormon is true on Thursday. I just want to close by quoting something Ezra Taft Benson said and that really stuck out to me on Sunday "We are commanded by God to take this gospel to all the world." and "Only the Gospel will bring joy happiness and salvation to the human family"
Go forth and serve
