Elder Draney

We had transfers this week and it has been Awesome!! My new companion is Elder Draney and he has been showing me how unorganized everything is so we have been doing lots of cleaning and organizing but its great and should make things easier to do.  He is also super fun and goofy, he played rugby in high school, came from Thatcher Utah, and loves cars.  Neither of us really know the area and the area books are a disaster so we are also working on trying to get those up to date.  Luckily for us Elder Reid is here with us for a few days and he know the area inside and out, he was in the area for 9 months and is going home in 2 weeks so he is a huge asset in getting to places and finding people to go visit and teach.  I love the Fig Garden ward more every week it truly is amazing how much the members can help when they are missionary minded and so we are working on more ways to get them involved because they want to help as much as possible.  The Sierra ward is difficult, our mission president wants us to achieve the Power of One every month and so all companions ships are expected to baptize in every ward, and so we really need to find ways to work with the Sierra ward.  Anyway, we really want to improve our commitments and start setting baptismal dates so we can see who is really learning and how we can better help people.  I love being out here, it truly is amazing, if you ever want to help with missionary work, let the missionaries know you would love to teach with them but the biggest thing is finding.  We find and talk to people all over but its when they have member friends that it becomes much more likely for them to feel loved and to want to be baptized.  I can't believe I am still in training and have been out like 7 weeks in the mission field.  It really is amazing because I am learning more from my studies than I ever have before, being a missionary increases your love of the gospel, and strengthening your testimony helps you become a better missionary.  I really like something I heard this week from Elder Draney, teaching the gospel with people is just sharing what we know, so we need to always be learning  so we have more to share, and that in the end this is the most important thing we can share.

I am working on taking more pictures, clothes are looking a little worn, the exercise is getting easier I think, but its still just requires me to keep pushing.  I am still eating lots of sandwiches, I had 2 for breakfast, and yes my testimony is growing, its so awesome, its lots of knocking and people not being home at the moment but I know things will get better as we keep trying.

The pictures are the junk we found, fun at pioneer day,
