Building an Ark with Junk Food and Flooding it with Rootbeer

Recently I have been studying in Alma and it has been so awesome to see the amazing examples of Alma, Ammon, and the other missionaries, seeing how much hard work they had to put in, there mighty prayers of faith and the joy it brought them.  Now they have just headed out again to reclaim the Zoramites and Alma gives them all a blessing that they might have success and it says they worked hard going door to door and talking to everyone and then they began to find the humble people who want to listen and know what to do, I am hoping to restudy it and go into more detail to see what things I can apply to my mission.  We don't knock many doors just tracting as we have been told that is not very effective so we try members we don't know in the directory and potentials and former's in our area book.  I had a fun exchange on Thursday with my district leader Elder Jenson.  We were not able to teach anyone, but we knocked on lots of doors, found people who had moved, not interested, and others who said to come  back.  We also talked to some people while we were out and about and he was able to set appointments for the Spanish Elders to go back and teach some people in Spanish.  We were trying to teach one of the recent converts here, Kayla, but we ran into some complications as a car had followed her home from school and then it pulled in front of her house while we were there and so she called the cops and it was one of her crazy neighbors who hopefully won't be bothering her any more.  The ward mission leader has an aggression personalty but is good at teaching and wants to help us find people to teach as well as support for them.  I wish I had better understand the metal exertion that it takes that I could have developed by participating in sports or other extra curricular so that I could be more disciplined.  We have a district meeting every week and we have a zone conference every other transfer and we in those other transfers we have a specialized training since we can only have a zone conference every 2 transfers.  There might be some I might want to room with, like Elder Davis who came out with me, at the same time I don't know because I don't usually get that close with people or have companions very long.  That sounds like life, inviting everyone to come to church/ meet with them and then they don't show.  My advice would be to always have a back up plan, that is one of the first rules of missionary work is to have faith in your plans, but always be prepared because things will rarely in ever go as planned.  We have one investigator at the moment and she was not there at her appointment so we will keep trying because she really seems like she wants to learn more.   Her name is Linda More, please keep her in your prayers that when we can finally teach her she will be able to recognize the Spirit and that we can always prepare ourselves accordingly.
